Vocational Skills
St. John Bosco Vocational Training Centre offers a diverse range of skills training programmes designed to prepare individuals for meaningful employment both locally and internationally. Many of these programmes are offered in partnership with the Human Employment and Resource Training Trust/National Training Agency (HEART/NSTA Trust), enabling students to earn regionally recognized certifications that open doors in tourism, hospitality, agriculture, services, and beauty industries.
Students at the Centre have the unique opportunity to learn and work on the same campus, gaining hands-on experience through our various business enterprises. This practical, real-world exposure complements classroom learning and equips students with the skills, confidence, and work ethic needed to succeed.
Many students choose to pursue multiple skill areas, graduating as multi-skilled professionals. Training programmes range from four months to two years, and throughout the journey, students receive expert instruction, ongoing mentorship, and opportunities to refine their craft in a supportive environment.

Work Experience
Over the years, we have seen tremendous success through our “Learning by Doing” approach which has been adopted by all of our trade departments since the institution’s establishment. Students have attested that this proven approach has made classes more engaging than those they have experienced at previous schools. Beyond this, our work-integrated approach allows students to sharpen and gain confidence in the skills they are developing while making concepts more understandable, memorable and applicable within a real-world context. To ensure that students gain as much practical work experience as possible, we involve them in practicums, internships, and apprenticeships. Upon completion of their trade programmes, students are also matched with job opportunities at reputable companies that partner with SJB.
